Today’s Charitable Foundation

In early 2014, Today’s Charitable Foundation was launched with the objective of supporting and raising money for charity. Since then and with the help of our members, supplier partners and retailers, Today’s Group has raised over £40,000 across both charities.

Bluebell Wood

bluebell wood

Bluebell Wood is a Children’s Hospice that offers care and support to children with a shortened life expectancy, both in their own
homes and at their hospice in North Anston, near Doncaster. This charity has been chosen by Today’s as it has children at the heart of all that they do and it is local to Today’s Group head office. It is known personally by a member of the Today’s board and was quickly selected when we learnt more about what they offer and how it is achieved.

Bluebell Wood needs £3 million every year to simply maintain the facilities they provide to terminally ill children and continue the support offered to their families. They receive no Government funding.

As well as donating time to help out at the hospice, Today’s Group staff and its generous stakeholders have raised an incredible amount of money through hosting charity raffles at key annual events and completing a grueling outdoor adventure challenge.

Village Water

Village Water is a charity discovered when carrying out research for our Blue Stone Spring own label water. The focus here is on providing safe water and sanitation in rural Zambia, for village communities.

Since 2003, Village Water has been changing lives in rural Zambia through safe water and sanitation, supporting activities in more than 680 villages and 10 schools, reaching over 150,000 people.

Since partnering with Village Water, two of the Today’s Group staff members have traveled to Africa to see first hand just how the money raised is helping communities in Africa. In addition staff have raised money by cycling 100km duing the London Nightrider 2015 event and the group continues to raise money through the sale of it’s Blue Stone Spring bottled water, where 1 pence is donated to Village Water for every litre sold.

Clare Wearden, Director of Village Water said: “I want to say a huge ‘thank you’ for making such a fantastic effort with us! In just under three weeks, [of working together] Today’s Group has put together funds for an entire community – it’s staggering.”
