National Living Wage rises to £7.50 an hour

The new national living wage is now law. From 1st April 2017, workers aged 25 years and above are legally entitled to a minimum of £7.50 an hour, a 4.2% increase on the previous rate of £7.20.

The current legal rates of the National living wage are detailed below;

  • Employee 25 and over: £7.20
  • Employee 21 to 24: £7.05
  • Employee 18 to 20: £5.60
  • Employee under 18: £4.05
  • Apprentices: £3.50
